CommandCenter Secure Gateway 4.0.0.5.5 Read Me Release Date: July 31, 2008 The CC-SG upgrade file is the following zip file: scc40_upgrade_p23_rpm_rfp.zip Use the upgrade procedure below ONLY if the CommandCenter Secure Gateway (CC-SG) you intend to upgrade to release 4.0.0 meets the following two conditions: 1. Your current firmware version is 3.1.1, 3.2.0, or 3.2.1 and 2. Your CommandCenter Secure Gateway hardware version is CC-SG-V1 or CC-SG-E1. To find your current CC-SG firmware and hardware versions: Launch the Admin Client by entering the following URL in a web browser window: http(s):///admin. Choose Administration > Configuration and then select the SNMP tab. In the CommandCenter Advertized Attributes you will see your CommandCenter Secure Gateway firmware version followed by hardware version. If your CC-SG does not meet both conditions, refer to the CC-SG 4.0.0 Release Notes document for information about updating your CommandCenter Secure Gateway. Upgrade Procedure: NOTES: * SNMP traps (ccImageUpgradeStarted and ccImageUpgradeResults) can be enabled to monitor the upgrade progress. * If you have a cluster configured you must remove the cluster before upgrading. Directions on removing CC-SG from a cluster configuration are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide. 1. Backup the current CC-SG system and save this backup on a remote network location. Directions on making a CC-SG backup file and saving it to a remote network location are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide. 2. Download the CC-SG firmware upgrade file from the Raritan web site to your client computer. 3. Launch a supported web browser and navigate to URL address http(s):///admin. 4. The CC-SG login page opens after you accept the certificate shown in the popup dialog. 5. Log in using an account that has the CC Setup and Control privilege. 6. Choose System Maintenance > Maintenance Mode > Enter Maintenance Mode. 7. The Enter Maintenance Mode screen opens. Password: Type your password. Broadcast message: Type the message to users who will be logged off CC-SG. Enter maintenance mode after (min): Enter the number of minutes, from 0-30, that should elapse before CC-SG enters maintenance mode. Entering zero minutes causes Maintenance Mode to begin immediately. Click OK. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box. A dialog window will appear to notify you that CommandCenter has entered maintenance mode. 8. If you have not previously done so, it is strongly advised that you make a backup of the current CC-SG system and save this backup on a remote (client) PC at this time. Directions on making a backup file are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide. 9. Once your CC-SG is backed up, you are ready to upgrade CC-SG. Choose System Maintenance > Upgrade. 10. The Upgrade CommandCenter screen opens. Click Browse in the right panel of the screen. 11. Navigate to and select the Cc-SG firmware upgrade file you downloaded from the Raritan web site in step #1 above. 12. A confirmation dialog box appears. Click OK. 13. The upgrade file uploads to CC-SG. A status bar shows you the upload progress. 14. When the upload is complete, click OK in the confirmation dialog box. 15. Depending on the internal database size, you may have to wait up to 60 minutes for this step to be completed. As part of this step the CC-SG reboots automatically twice. WARNING: DO NOT manually reboot the CC-SG during the upgrade. Manual reboot at this step may cause fatal damage to your CC-SG. 16. If you enabled SNMP traps prior to the upgrade your SNMP manager application will receive trap ccImageUpgradeResults with a "success" message upon completion of the upgrade process. Alternatively, you may login to Diagnostic Console as user 'status' to verify CC-SG Version and identify that CC-SG Status is now Up. Diagnostic Console will not be responsive if the upgrade is still in progress. 17. Clear your browser cache. These instructions may vary slightly for different browser versions. In Internet Explorer 7.0: Choose Tools > Internet Options. On the General tab under Browsing history, click Delete button, under Temporary Internet Files click Delete Files... button. Finally, click Yes to confirm. In Firefox 2.0: Choose Tools > Clear Private Data. Make sure Cache is selected, and then click Clear Private Data Now. When the cache is clear, close the browser window. 18. Clear your Java cache. These instructions may vary slightly for different Java versions and different operating systems. In Windows XP with Java 1.6: Choose Control Panel > Java. On the General tab, click Settings. In the dialog box that opens, click Delete Files. Make sure Applications and Applets is selected, and then click OK. 19. Launch a new web browser window and navigate to URL address http(s):///admin. 20. Log in using an account that has the CC Setup and Control privilege. 21. Choose Help > About Raritan Secure Gateway. Verify the CommandCenter Secure Gateway version is 4.0.0.5.5. 22. Choose System Maintenance > Maintenance Mode > Exit Maintenance Mode. 23. Click OK to exit Maintenance Mode. 24. Make a backup of the current CC-SG system and save the backup file on a remote network location.
