CommandCenter Secure Gateway 3.2.1 Read Me Release Date: Feb. 4, 2008 The upgrade package is a zip file: scc321_upgrade_p17_rpm_rfp.zip Upgrade Procedure To find your current CommandCenter Secure Gateway version: Choose Help > About Raritan Secure Gateway. CommandCenter Secure Gateway displays the version as 3.w.x.y.z, where w, x, y, and z are numeric identifiers. Use this upgrade procedure only if your version is 3.1.0.5.3 or higher. NOTE: The CommandCenter Secure Gateway server will automatically shut down and reboot after a successful upgrade. NOTE: If you have a cluster configured you must remove the cluster before upgrading. Directions on removing CC-SG from a cluster configuration are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide 1. Download the scc321_upgrade_p17_rpm_rfp.zip archive from the Raritan web site to your client computer. 2. Launch a supported web browser and navigate to URL address http(s):///admin. 3. The CommandCenter Secure Gateway login page opens after you accept the certificate shown in the popup dialog. 4. Log in using an account that has the CC Setup and Control privilege. 5. Choose System Maintenance > Maintenance Mode > Enter Maintenance Mode. 6. The Enter Maintenance Mode screen opens. Password: Type your password. Only users with the CC Setup and Control privilege can enter maintenance mode. Broadcast message: Type the message that will display to users who will be logged off CC-SG. Enter maintenance mode after (min): Enter the number of minutes, from 0-30, that should elapse before CC-SG enters maintenance mode. Entering zero minutes causes Maintenance Mode to begin immediately. Click OK. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box. A dialog window will appear to notify you that CommandCenter has entered maintenance mode. 7. It is advised that you make a backup of the current CC-SG system and save this backup on a remote (client) PC. Directions on making a backup file are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide. 8. Once your CC-SG is backed up, you are ready to upgrade CC-SG. Choose System Maintenance > Upgrade. 9. The Upgrade CommandCenter screen opens. Click Browse in the right panel of the screen. 10. Navigate to and select the scc321_upgrade_p17_rpm_rfp.zip file you downloaded from the Raritan web site. 11. A confirmation dialog box appears. Click OK. 12. The scc321_upgrade_p17_rpm_rfp.zip uploads to CC-SG. A status bar shows you the upload progress. 13. When the upload is complete, click OK in the confirmation dialog box. 14. Clear your browser cache. These instructions may vary slightly for different browser versions. In Internet Explorer 6.0: Choose Tools > Internet Options. On the General tab, click Delete Files, and then click OK to confirm. In FireFox 2.0: Choose Tools > Clear Private Data. Make sure Cache is selected, and then click Clear Private Data Now. When the cache is clear, close the browser window. 15. Clear your Java cache. These instructins may vary slightly for different Java versions and different operating systems. In Windows XP with Java 1.6: Choose Control Panel > Java. On the General tab, click Settings. In the dialog box that opens, click Delete Files. Make sure Applications and Applets is selected, and then click OK. 16. You must wait for the upgrade to complete before logging into CC-SG again. You can monitor the upgrade in the Diagnostic Console. Directions on accessing Diagnostic Console are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide. 17. Once Diagnostic Console is launched, choose Admin > System Logfile Viewer. Select sg/upgrade.log, and then choose View to view the upgrade log. 18. Wait for the automatic upgrade process to run. The upgrade process is complete when you see the "Upgrade completed" message in the upgrade log. The server must reboot. The reboot process begins when you see the "Linux reboot" message in the upgrade.log. The server will shut down and reboot. 19. Wait a few minutes while CC-SG reboots. 20. Launch a new web browser window and navigate to URL address http(s):///admin. 21. Log in using an account that has the CC Setup and Control privilege. 22. Choose Help > About Raritan Secure Gateway. Verify the CommandCenter Secure Gateway version is 3.2.1.5.1. 23. Choose System Maintenance > Maintenance Mode > Exit Maintenance Mode. 24. The Exit Maintenance Mode screen opens. 25. Click OK to exit Maintenance Mode. 26. It is advised that you make a backup of the current CC-SG system and save this backup on a remote (client) PC. Directions on making a backup file are included in the CC-SG Administrators Guide. 27. If you removed a cluster, you may now re-create it. Directions on creating a cluster can be found in the CC-SG Administrators Guide.
